Christian Worldview Dialogue 2012 (April 26)

The dialogue will focus on  Developing a Christian Worldview in Alberta


Participants in FACTSnet Summer Programs  have been developing networks and researching several aspects of worldview studies including researching an historical approach to teaching a basic Christian Worldview see  Christian Beliefs (Creed Topics).


This summer we are hoping to have a dialogue on what is a basic Christian Worldview



  1. The dialogue will take place in person and online. 
  2. It will be Inter-generational (no one is too old and we recommend all students in grade 6 going into grade 7 next year and up to participate).
  3. Interdenominational (we will be looking at early church Christianity, which is a common heritage to both Catholic and Protestant denominations)..
Below are initial plans for the dialogue:

  1. Attending and evaluating the Truth Matters Tour Event April 21st  see  http://www.truthmatterstour.com/  for tickets and details. Sean McDowell one of the authors of the book "The Unshakable Truth"  will be speaking.



  2. Introductory session on April 26th



    1. Time 6:30pm
    2. Chapel at Beulah Alliance Church, West Campus (98A Ave. & 178 St.)
    3. At this session a PowerPoint on Teaching Truth in Today's Youth Culture; by Josh McDowell, the other author of The Unshakable Truth (see http://www.unshakabletruth.com - contents pg 1, pg 2, pg 3) will be presented.
    4. Optional: Bring your wireless device to access the Internet.



  3. Initial dialogue Wednesday or Thursday evenings starting May 9th or 10th 



    1. Time 6:30pm
    2. at Beulah Alliance Church west campus (Wed. - Room 105, Thursday - Conference Room C)
    3. These discussions will be based on several resources starting with "The Unshakable Truth" study guide (Order online at http://beulah.ca/nbb)  and video series  (see  http://www.unshakabletruth.com/sg/Session1-1.html.for the first video) 

    4. The dialogue will look at how Christianity is relevant to the Alberta K-12 Program of Studies, especially religious education.


    5. Be of interest to teachers, children and youth leaders, parents and grand parents of children of all ages.  see Parents As Coaches Network.



  4. Ongoing dialogue. online and perhaps in person discussions to be determined during the initial discussions in May.




  5. Worldview and Japan see Alberta/Japan Network this dialogue and trip to Japan is of special interest to grade 7 and 8 students, teachers and parents..  
  6. 150th Anniversary of the Grey Nuns coming to St. Albert.  This project is of special interest to grade 6 and 7 students, teachers and parents..
